BACH COLLEGIUM SAN DIEGO PRESENTS:
HANDEL’S MESSIAH

December 22, 2019 · 7:00 PM
The Baker-Baum Concert Hall @ The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center

Handel’s Messiah springs to life through a striking account of this beloved oratorio. The oratorio’s strength lies in Charles Jennens’ carefully conceived libretto and Handel’s supreme prowess as composer of the theatre. BCSD’s performance of Messiah, delivered by a dynamic cast of musicians in the manner of Handel’s most dramatic operas, has become its crown jewel and is not to be missed.

Stage seats for this performance are available for purchase.

BEETHOVEN: A PORTRAIT OF THE ARTIST AS A YOUNG MAN

January 14, 2020 · 7:30 PM
The Baker-Baum Concert Hall

The San Diego Symphony celebrates their January Festival with the works of a young Ludwig van Beethoven, whose innovations as a pianist and composer dazzled Viennese audiences. The Septet was the most popular of Beethoven’s work in his own lifetime, and in it we hear foreshadowing of the great symphonies he would later write.

This concert is part of the San Diego Symphony’s season-long celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday.

Thank you to Sam B. Ersan, Founding Sponsor of the Chamber Music Series.
San Diego Symphony Orchestra performances at The Conrad are sponsored by Rita Atkinson.

The Baker-Baum Concert Hall

Take a journey across a world of genres with Assia Ahhatt and find yourself captivated by her magical prowess.

A musical genius from the age of 5, Assia started with nothing but a violin and rose from the ashes of her childhood home in the war-torn country of Ukraine to be a world-class musician.

Hear modern classics as you have never heard them before, interpreted by one of contemporary music’s best violin soloists, in ASSIA – LIVE IN CONCERT. This musical extravaganza is part of special programming premiering on public television stations across the country in June of 2019 (check local listings).

The concert features soulful renditions of classic American hits that have inspired Assia’s transcendent musical career, from Katrina and the Waves’ hit song, “I’m Walking on Sunshine,” and Secret Garden’s contemporary Christian tune, “You Raise Me Up,” all the way to Gloria Gaynor’s 1978 timeless classic, “I Will Survive,” and ABBA’s musical sensation, “Mamma Mia.” Assia delights audiences everywhere with her amazing takes on these classics and more.
