Emerson String Quartet closes La Jolla Music Society’s chamber series

“There’s no shortage of accolades and achievements for the Emerson String Quartet. Nine Grammys, including two for best classical album. Three Gramophones, one of the most prestigious awards in classical music. “Ensemble of the Year” by Musical America, the nation’s oldest classical music magazine.

The 40-year-old ensemble — violinists Eugene Drucker and Philip Setzer, violist Lawrence Dutton and cellist Paul Watkins — returns to San Diego on Saturday to close the La Jolla Music Society’s Revelle Chamber Music Series. Its program will feature Mozart’s String Quartet in D Minor, Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 4 and Dvo?ák’s String Quartet No. 11, Op. 61.”
