At age 20, Nikolay Khozyainov is one of the most promising pianists of his generation. He began playing piano at five and later studied at Central Musical School of the Moscow P.I.Tchaikovsky Conservatory and under Mikhail Voskresensky at Moscow’s Tchiakovsky Conservatory of Music.
Mr. Khozyainov is the winner of numerous awards from international piano competitions, including First Prize at the Dublin International Piano Competition (2012), First Prize at the Alexander Scriabin International Piano Competition in Paris (2008), and Second Prize at the Sydney International Competition (2012). He was also the youngest finalist of the 16th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2010). His interpretations of Chopin garnered excellent reviews from critics and audience members alike.
Mr. Khozyainov released his first CD with CD Accord in 2011 featuring works by Chopin and Liszt, and in 2012 JVC Viktor released a recording of his performances from the 16th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition. Mr. Khozyainov will make his Carnegie Hall debut on April 30, 2013.
