Last summer Burt Hara joined the Los Angeles Philharmonic as Associate Principal Clarinet after twenty-five seasons as the Principal Clarinet of the Minnesota Orchestra. He has served as Principal Clarinet of the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, and performed as Principal Clarinet of the Chicago Symphony, the New York Philharmonic, the St. Louis Symphony, the Seattle Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. As a soloist, Mr. Hara has performed with the orchestras in Philadelphia and Minnesota and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He is on the faculty at the Aspen Music Festival and School, and the Principal Clarinet of the Aspen Chamber Symphony. Mr. Hara is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music.
