Hagen Quartet
Violinist Rainer Schmidt has devoted himself to the study of chamber music, joining the Hagen Quartet in 1987 and co-founding the Ravinia Trio in 1989. He has performed throughout Europe, the United States, and Japan with artists like Gerard Causse, David Geringas, Tatjana Grindenko, Paul Gulda, Nobuko Imai, Gidon Kremer, Oleg Maisenberg, Mischa Meisky, Boris Pergamenschikov, Heinrich Schiff, and Tabea Zimmermann. Mr. Schmidt teaches at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and the Music Academy in Basel.
