SummerFest Coaching Workshops are intensive master classes, conducted by senior artists from the festival roster, and offered to the young artists participating in our Fellowship Artist Program and local advanced students. All Coaching Workshops are open to the public, further providing students with the opportunity to present their work to a discerning audience.

Open Rehearsals are scheduled throughout SummerFest and provide the audience with a rare opportunity to observe the intricate rehearsal process. These rehearsals reveal the arduous preparation that leads to the spectacular collaboration involved in making music.

SummerFest Encounters delve into specific topics related to performances, artists and composers, giving audiences the opportunity to connect more deeply with the festival. Past Encounters have covered in-depth considerations of music history and theory, roundtable discussions with composers-in-residence, and presentations on developing a successful career in music.
